California hosts cultural event devoted to Azerbaijan's Independence Day PHOTO
On October 18, the city of Campbell, California, hosted a cultural and musical evening dedicated to Azerbaijan’s Independence Restoration Day.
The event was organised by the Cultural Society of Northern California and brought together active members of the Azerbaijani community in the state, as well as diplomats from the Azerbaijani Consulate General, per local media.
Speakers highlighted Azerbaijan’s history of independence, its modern development built on the legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev, and the country’s ongoing progress under President Ilham Aliyev.
The society, which has been active for 43 years, was praised for strengthening cultural unity among Azerbaijanis in the US.
The evening featured musical performances by the Sound of Fire drum group and the youth band Neva, showcasing Azerbaijan’s rich musical heritage. Dance performances were presented by the Azerbaijani Children’s Dance Ensemble.
The evening concluded with the Cultural Society awarding certificates to diaspora activists in recognition of their contributions.
