Canadian military starts training Ukrainian sappers in Poland

Canada’s Defence Minister Anita Anand has said that Canadian military personnel began training Ukrainian deminers in Poland on November 24.

"Today about 40 Canadian military personnel started teaching the first Canadian-led course for Ukrainian sappers in Poland," RBC-Ukraine quotes Anand’s tweet as saying on November 24.

According to Anand, the training focuses on detecting, identifying and defusing explosives and their use during blasting operations.

"These skills will save lives and help Ukrainians protect their people. Canada supports Ukraine as its heroic Armed Forces continue to fight against Russia's illegal and unjustified invasion," the minister added.
