Capital One Arena to host Trump’s rally before inauguration
US President-elect Donald Trump is set to hold a rally-style event on January 19 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., just before his inauguration.
The Capital One Arena, home to the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals, can accommodate around 20,000 attendees, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The "Make America Great Again Victory Rally" is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. ET, as per a sign-up link from the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. Trump is scheduled to be sworn in for his second term on January 20.
Following his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the November election, Trump has begun announcing personnel appointments for his second administration.
Although Trump won the election on November 5, 2024, his victory was only officially confirmed on December 17. On that day, Texas electors, during a meeting in Austin, awarded him 40 electoral votes, bringing him to the required 270 votes, officially securing his position as the 47th president of the US.
