Cargo vessel comes under fire off Oman coast UPDATED
A Liberian-flagged bulk carrier, MV Wan Hai Pioneer, came under attack near the coast of Oman early on August 4, according to Al Arabiya.
Maritime security sources said the vessel's crew had been successfully evacuated. However, one seafarer remains missing.
The attack reportedly struck the ship's engine room and sparked a fire in the accommodation area.

A cargo vessel came under attack off the coast of Oman, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported.
"UKMTO has received a report of an incident 20NM northeast of Al Khasab, Oman. A cargo vessel has broadcasted on VHF 16 that they have been hit by an unknown projectile," the organisation said.
British authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, while civilian vessels transiting the area have been advised to exercise heightened caution.
