CENTCOM: 90 ships redirected, four disabled in Iran maritime operation
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it has stepped up maritime enforcement in regional waters, with a Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper helicopter patrolling near commercial shipping lanes to ensure compliance with restrictions on Iran-linked vessels.
According to CENTCOM, American forces had “redirected 90 ships and disabled four” since the latest phase of the maritime enforcement campaign began, which the command says is aimed at preventing unauthorised maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports, Caliber.Az reports.
