CENTCOM announces start of naval blockade of Iranian ports

CENTCOM has announced that the United States will begin a naval blockade of all vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports on April 13 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET).

The blockade applies to ships of all countries; however, it does not affect vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz en route to non-Iranian ports.

Mariners are advised to follow official notices and maintain communication with U.S. naval forces in the region.
