CENTCOM refutes IRGC’s claim of downed US jet over Iran

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) states that the claim made by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, the elite forces of Iran) about shooting down an American F/A-18 fighter over the Iranian city of Chabahar is false.

“FALSE: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a U.S. F/A-18 fighter was struck over Chabahar using new advanced air defense systems. TRUE: No U.S. fighter aircraft have been shot down by Iran,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
