Central Asian states agree to strengthen cooperation on border security
Central Asian countries have agreed to expand cooperation on regional border security, focusing on joint efforts to address terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, and drug trafficking.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Secretaries of the Central Asian Security Councils held in Dushanbe, Caliber.Az reports per Tajik media.
During the talks, officials reviewed coordinated approaches to regional security challenges and emphasised the need for closer collaboration among member states’ security structures to counter cross-border threats.
At the same meeting, Khurshed Mirzo, head of Tajikistan’s Innovation Agency, presented updates on the country’s international initiatives in artificial intelligence development and cybersecurity. He briefed representatives from participating states on ongoing efforts to integrate advanced technologies into national security and digital infrastructure systems.
