Central Tehran targeted in large-scale Israeli strikes
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it had carried out a large-scale series of strikes targeting infrastructure in central Tehran, according to a statement published on its official Telegram channel.
“Recently, the IDF completed a large-scale series of strikes on the infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime in central Tehran. Details will follow,” the statement said.
Separately, Al Jazeera reported that a residential area in the Iranian city of Urmia was also hit, with four residential buildings completely destroyed and casualties reported.
The escalation follows Iran’s earlier announcement of the launch of the 83rd wave of strikes against key US and Israeli military facilities across the Middle East.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had targeted Israeli military positions near the city of Modiin, in central Israel, using missiles and attack drones.
