Chapel in southern France robbed, police launch investigation

Unknown individuals have robbed a chapel in the French commune of Vallauris, stealing several religious artefacts.

The incident was reported by radio station Europe 1.

According to journalists, the burglary took place during the night. Police said the perpetrators gained access to the chapel by breaking into the priest’s residence and forcing entry through a door. By the time law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, the suspects had already fled.

An investigation into the robbery is currently underway.
