Chile joins South Africa’s ICC lawsuit against Israel Accusing it of genocide
Chile has formally requested to join South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
The lawsuit, filed by South Africa, accuses Israel of committing genocide against the people of Gaza, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
Chile's move comes as part of a broader effort to address what it deems as severe violations of Palestinian rights. Chile has accused Israel of genocide and is urging the ICC to take protective measures against these alleged violations.
Chilean President Gabriel Boric expressed strong support for the legal action, denouncing Israel’s military operations in Gaza as “disproportionate.” He emphasized that Chile’s intervention is aimed at holding Israel accountable under the UN Genocide Convention.
