China always respects choice of Georgian people Foreign ministry says

Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of China Lin Jian has said that China respects the choice of the Georgian people and is prepared to continue developing relations with Georgia.

The Georgian Dream ruling party received 53.93 per cent of the votes according to the Central Election Commission's processing of data from 99.97 per cent of polling stations, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.

All four opposition parties that secured seats in parliament, along with their supporting non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, have refused to recognize these results, citing fraud.

"China noted that Georgia successfully held its election. China has always respected the choice of the Georgian people and sincerely hopes that Georgia will remain stable and prosperous," said the diplomat while commenting on the results of the parliamentary election in Georgia. 

He also emphasised that China is ready to work with all parties to promote the continuous development of the China-Georgia relations.
