China calls for immediate peace talks to end Iran war

China called on all parties involved in the Iran conflict on Thursday, March 26, to take steps toward initiating peace talks to end the ongoing war.

“The pressing priority is to actively promote peace talks, seize the opportunity of peace and promote the cessation of the war,” Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said.

He further emphasised that the international community should work to “create conditions for starting truly meaningful and sincere peace talks,” highlighting China’s support for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to the conflict.
