China congratulates opposition leader after Hungary election win

The Chinese government has congratulated Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisza Party, on his victory in Hungary’s elections.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks during a briefing in Beijing, Telex reports.
Guo said Beijing attaches great importance to the development of China–Hungary relations and is ready to work with Hungary’s new government to further strengthen bilateral ties based on mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit.
He added that China intends to intensify high-level contacts, strengthen political trust, expand practical cooperation, and further develop cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
