China delays Chang’e-7 lunar probe launch
24 August 2026 09:57
China’s Chang’e-7 lunar probe will not be launched during its planned window this year because the mission does not currently meet the required launch conditions, the China Manned Space Agency said on August 23.
The agency said the decision followed an assessment conducted according to the principles of prudence, reliability and ensuring the mission’s success, Chinese media reports.
The Chang’e-7 mission is part of China’s broader lunar exploration programme and is intended to advance the country’s exploration of the Moon.
