China opposes transfer of nuclear weapons to other countries
China opposed the transfer of nuclear weapons to other countries and their deployment outside its borders.
Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Geng Shuang said this, RBC-Ukraine reports, referring to the broadcast of the UN Security Council.
"We are in favor of banning the transfer of nuclear weapons, so that no nuclear countries transfer their nuclear weapons abroad and do not deploy them outside their own country," he said.
Shuang stressed that last year five nuclear leaders issued a statement that a nuclear war cannot be won and cannot be started.
"Today this statement is even more important. China calls on all nuclear countries to honor their commitments, reduce the risk of nuclear war and avoid any conflict between nuclear powers," he added.
