China rejects G7 allegations of arms supplies
China has never supplied weapons or dual-use goods to any party involved in the Ukraine conflict, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry has stated.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks during a press briefing, responding to recent claims by G7 foreign ministers, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
She emphasised that China has always actively promoted peace and dialogue regarding Ukraine, has never provided lethal weapons to any party in the conflict, and strictly controls dual-use goods.
Mao Ning also criticised the G7's stance, rejecting what she described as an attempt to shift responsibility for the escalation onto China.
She added that Beijing had lodged a strong protest with G7 nations, accusing them of disregarding facts and unfairly tarnishing China's image.
Last week, the foreign ministers of G7 countries issued a joint statement condemning the alleged military support provided to Russia by Iran and North Korea, as well as the supposed supply of "weapons and dual-use components by China."
The statement claimed that China was playing a key role in supporting Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and in the "rebuilding of the Russian Armed Forces."
