China says it has no information on Trump–Xi letters regarding Iran arms supplies

China’s Foreign Ministry has said it has no information regarding alleged correspondence between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping concerning possible military supplies to Iran.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China has repeatedly stated its firm position on the situation in Iran, but on the specific issue you mentioned, he has no information, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

He added that, ahead of the expected visit of the US president to China, both sides are maintaining contact.

On April 15, Trump told Fox Business that the two leaders had exchanged letters.

According to him, Xi Jinping sent a reply denying reports that China had transferred weapons to Iran.
