China, UAE air forces to conduct first joint training

The Air Force of the People's Liberation Army of China and the UAE have planned the first joint military manoeuvres in August. The Chinese defence ministry said they will take place in the Xinjiang of Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China.

The message on the department's page on the social network WeChat specifies that the military exercises will take place under the plan of bilateral inter-army cooperation for 2023, TASS reports.

"This is the first exercise between the air forces of China and the UAE, and is aimed at deepening practical cooperation between the armed forces of the two states," the message reads.

The manoeuvres are designed to "promote mutual understanding and trust", the message said.
