Lamborghini unleashes Fenomeno, its fastest hypercar ever PHOTO
Italian luxury automaker Lamborghini has revealed plans to launch its fastest car to date. The new plug-in hybrid, named Fenomeno, will feature “the most powerful V12 engine ever created” and is being billed as “the fastest Lamborghini in history,” the company confirmed.
According to foreign media, production will be extremely limited, with just a couple of dozen Fenomeno hypercars expected, each carrying a price tag of $3.5 million.
The Fenomeno made its debut at Monterey Car Week and will be part of Lamborghini’s exclusive Few Off collection, which also includes celebrated models such as the Sián and Countach.
Under the hood, the Fenomeno combines a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine delivering 835 cv (metric horsepower) with three electric motors producing an additional 245 cv, for a total output of 1080 cv (1065 hp). For context, the Lamborghini Revuelto generates 1015 cv (1001 hp).
The hypercar boasts a record-breaking power-to-weight ratio of 1.64 kg/cv, marking the highest in Lamborghini’s 62-year history. Its maximum torque matches that of the Revuelto, at 725 Nm at 6750 rpm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 2.4 seconds—0.1 seconds faster than the Revuelto—while the top speed exceeds 350 km/h.
This significant power boost is enabled by a newly developed 7 kWh battery, giving the Fenomeno a purely electric driving range of 20 km. By comparison, the Revuelto’s 3.8 kWh battery allows only a few seconds of electric-only driving.
The Fenomeno features a monocoque chassis and body constructed from carbon fiber, carbon-ceramic brake discs for enhanced stopping power, and 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires.
Design-wise, the two large air intakes on the hood are inspired by the Huracán GT3 race car, while the overall silhouette takes cues from the “long tail” of the Lamborghini Essenza race car. The hypercar’s name pays homage to Lamborghini’s iconic bull emblem.
Lamborghini plans to produce just 29 Fenomeno hypercars for customers, with an additional one reserved for its own collection.
