Israel: No agreement on Gaza without simultaneous release of all hostages
Israel is willing to enter into an agreement to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip only on the condition that all hostages are released simultaneously and several other requirements are met, as confirmed by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
"Israel is ready to consider an agreement only on the condition of simultaneous release of all hostages and in line with Israel’s principles for ending the war," the statement said.
The requirements include the complete disarmament of Hamas, the demilitarisation of the Gaza Strip, the establishment of Israeli control over security in the enclave, and the creation of an alternative civilian administration that is willing to live in peace with Israel.
The Israel-Hamas conflict escalated dramatically after the 2023 attack, prompting a major Israeli military operation in Gaza that has resulted in significant casualties and destruction. As of August 2025, ceasefire negotiations, mediated by the U.S., Egypt, and Qatar, have repeatedly stalled. Israel’s conditions reflect its long-standing goals of neutralizing Hamas’s threat and ensuring long-term security, but they face significant challenges. Hamas has rejected similar demands in past talks, insisting on a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and an end to the blockade.
