Deadly Geran-2 drone strike hits Kharkiv, killing at least three PHOTO
A Russian drone strike hit a residential area in the Industrial District of Kharkiv on the morning of August 18, killing three people—including a 1.5-year-old girl—and injuring 17 others, according to regional officials.
The attack involved four "Geran-2" type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which struck a five-story apartment building. Fires broke out on multiple floors, and parts of the structure collapsed, trapping residents beneath the rubble, Caliber.Az reports via Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov’s Telegram statement.
In total, six residential buildings and 15 vehicles were damaged in the strike. Emergency crews are continuing search-and-rescue operations at the site.
Authorities also confirmed that two additional Geran-2 drones struck elsewhere in the district, though no further casualties from those impacts have been reported so far.
