Ukraine, Netherlands reach agreement on joint drone production PHOTO
Ukraine and the Netherlands have signed an agreement on the joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles in both countries, Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced on X.
“A new milestone: Ukraine and The Netherlands are going to produce drones together in both our countries. With my Ukrainian colleague Denys Shmyhal I sign an agreement for co-production (‘Build With Ukraine’). This strengthens our joint security, resilience and innovation,” Caliber.Az quotes Brekelmans’s post.
The document was signed by Brekelmans and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Brussels, on the sidelines of the EU Council meeting.
The pact, part of the broader "Build with Ukraine" initiative, commits the Netherlands to €200 million ($232 million) in investments, focusing on co-developing and manufacturing advanced drone systems. It marks the Netherlands as the fourth NATO ally (after Denmark, the UK, and Romania) to formalise defence co-production with Ukraine, enabling Kyiv to share battle-tested designs while scaling domestic output.
