Catamaran capsizes in Florida, killing four on board PHOTO

On November 29, a catamaran carrying four people capsized on the Caloosahatchee River near the Cape Coral Yacht Club, between Cape Coral and Fort Myers, killing all on board.

According to the Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team, the tragedy occurred around 4 p.m. local time near the Cape Coral Yacht Club, Caliber.Az reports, citing ABC News.

During a search and rescue operation involving state, local, and federal agencies, the bodies of three victims were recovered from the river.

Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported that a fourth victim, a 60-year-old man missing since the accident, was found dead on November 30 after extensive searches by the US Coast Guard.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the catamaran’s capsizing.
