Trump says Iran asked to restart negotiations with US

US President Donald Trump said Iran has requested the resumption of negotiations with the United States, adding that Washington has agreed to continue the talks while making clear that the previous ceasefire is no longer in effect.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the US had responded positively to Tehran's request but stressed that its position on the ceasefire remained unchanged.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue ‘talks.’ We have agreed to do so, but the United States has stated to them, in no uncertain terms, that the Cease Fire is OVER!” Trump wrote.
