China urges NATO to abandon eastward expansion

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said that Beijing calls on NATO to refrain from expanding into the Asia-Pacific region (APR).

China insists that the NATO countries listen to the calls of the Asia-Pacific countries for peace, correct their perception and abandon the Cold War mentality, he said in an interview with TASS.

"We urge NATO to keep up with the times, listen to the just calls of the Asia-Pacific countries for peace and development, correct their misperceptions, abandon the Cold War mentality, and refrain from moving into the Asia-Pacific region," Hanhui said.
