China urges Russia to jointly resist hegemony of some countries

China and Russia should jointly promote regional development and fight the hegemony of a number of states, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a statement.

The statement came following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Phnom Penh, as quoted on the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

"China and Russia should jointly promote regional development <...> as well as create a stable and reliable regional production supply chain, <...> fighting together against the false orders imposed by hegemons," the Chinese minister said.

According to him, China will increase the scale of cooperation with Russia in healthcare, communications, digital economy, the introduction of environmentally friendly low-carbon technologies, as well as help to integrate the projects of "One Belt, One Road" and the Eurasian Economic Union and strengthen relations in accordance with the objectives of the Greater Eurasian Partnership.
