China, US pledge to foster dialogue
Head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) Liu Jianchao and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at a meeting held in Taiwan on January 12, said they were ready to continue to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
According to Gazeta.Ru, the International Relations Department of the CPC Central Committee made the statement in this regard.
The two sides said that they would contribute to the implementation of the consensus and results achieved during the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden in San Francisco in November 2023.
The statement added that Liu Jianchao elaborated on his position on relevant issues, emphasising that both China and the US should move towards each other and do their best for the stable, healthy and sustainable development of the two countries' relations.
Among other things, Liu Jianchao and Blinken exchanged views on international and regional issues.
