China warns Philippines over "joint patrols" in South China Sea
05 September 2025 12:19
The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theatre Command carried out routine patrols in the South China Sea on September 3.
Tian Junli, spokesperson for the command, said the Philippines had colluded with countries outside the region to stage so-called “joint patrols,” accusing Manila of undermining peace and stability, Caliber.Az reports via Chinese media.
Tian noted that forces under the Southern Theatre Command remain on high alert to defend China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
“Any attempt to stir up trouble in the South China Sea and create tensions is doomed to fail,” the spokesperson said.
