12 July 2026 09:39

Chinese airlines plan to cancel more than 2,800 domestic flights on July 12 due to the impact of Typhoon Bavi, according to China Central Television (CCTV).

The broadcaster advised passengers to closely monitor weather developments and check the status of their flights for possible disruptions.

As of the evening of July 11, more than 1,300 flights had already been delayed because of adverse weather conditions.

Typhoon Bavi made landfall in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province at 11:20 p.m. local time on July 11 (5:20 p.m. Baku time). Wind speeds in the area of the city of Taizhou reached 40 meters per second.

Nearly two million people have been evacuated from eastern China as authorities respond to the approaching storm.
