Chinese Consulate General to resume operations in Kyrgyz city of Osh
China's Consulate General in the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh is set to resume operations, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev has announced.
Kulubayev said he had signed the exequatur confirming the authority of the foreign consul and authorising him to carry out official duties in Kyrgyzstan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
The minister noted that the Chinese consulate had previously operated in Osh but suspended its activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, the Foreign Ministry has repeatedly received requests from citizens to restore the diplomatic mission's work.
Kulubayev added that Kyrgyzstan has completed all necessary documentation required for the resumption of the consulate's activities.
Liu Ming Ge has been appointed as China's new Consul General in Osh.
