Chinese FM: Beijing supports Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security
China supports Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security, and opposes the use of force and the continuation of what he called an “illegal war,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated.
During a meeting in China with his Iranian counterpart, he said the conflict affects not only Iran but the entire region, Caliber.Az reports, citing a statement released by Iran’s Foreign Ministry.
According to the ministry, Yi called for diplomatic solutions to regional crises, and praised what he described as the “resistance and resilience of the Iranian people,” as well as Iran’s “goodwill and responsible stance” in efforts to reduce tensions.
The Chinese foreign minister also referred to the four-point plan proposed by China’s president for resolving the conflict, stressing that Beijing views diplomacy and dialogue as the only way out of crises.
The two sides also discussed the implementation of bilateral agreements, prospects for expanding economic and trade cooperation, and agreed to maintain regular high-level consultations.
