Chinese FM: US must face its own responsibilities for Ukraine crisis
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has urged the United States to accept its own responsibility for the Ukraine crisis, rather than deflecting blame onto China.
His remarks came during a meeting with Jake Sullivan, US Assistant to the President for National Security, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"China has consistently advocated for peace talks and a political resolution to the Ukraine crisis and will continue to uphold this stance," Wang Yi stated. "The US should not avoid its responsibilities by shifting the blame to China."
Wang Yi also criticized the US for its "indiscriminate imposition of illegal unilateral sanctions," calling for an end to such practices.
Sullivan's visit to China, scheduled from August 27 to 29, marks the first trip by a US presidential national security aide to China in eight years. This visit is also Sullivan's inaugural trip to China in his current role.
