City bus crashes into Seoul Bank building, 13 injured PHOTO
A city bus crashed into the NH NongHyup Bank building in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, on January 16, leaving 13 people injured, local authorities reported.
Two of the injured are believed to be in serious condition, Caliber.Az reports via South Korean media.
The accident occurred near Seodaemun Station on Seoul Subway Line 5 when the bus reportedly drove over a pedestrian sidewalk before striking the bank’s glass facade. Video footage from YTN TV showed the bus’s front embedded in the building’s exterior.
Emergency services, including police and firefighters, quickly arrived at the scene to assist the injured and secure the area. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the incident was caused by mechanical failure, driver error, or other factors.
