CNN: Blockade of Strait of Hormuz could put US forces at risk

A blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by the United States could lead to new losses among American military personnel.

Securing such a blockade would require significant US military resources, which would put American forces at risk, as the United States has so far mainly conducted most of its strikes on Iran from the air, CNN reports.

Given that Iran has already vowed to attack US ships using drones and small boats, there is a risk of an increase in the number of American military casualties.

Public opinion in the United States is already broadly against the war, and the blockade could trigger two consequences Americans have consistently shown little tolerance for: military casualties and rising fuel prices.
