CNN: Iran may be repairing nuclear site at Parchin
Iran may be attempting to repair elements of its nuclear infrastructure, CNN reported, citing satellite imagery analysed in collaboration with the Institute for Science and International Security.
The images focus on the military complex at Parchin, where explosive materials potentially linked to nuclear weapons development may be stored.
According to the report, the site had previously been targeted during a joint U.S. and Israeli military operation, in which bunker-buster munitions struck the facility, leaving multiple visible openings in the roof of the structure.
Satellite photographs taken in June and July indicate that repair activity may now be underway, with signs that Iran has begun restoring the damaged protective structure.
CNN noted that the apparent repair work may have occurred while a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, signed on June 18, was in effect. Under the terms of the agreement, Tehran had committed to suspending any repair activity at nuclear facilities during the course of negotiations.
