CNN: Israel can achieve majority of goals set for Iran “within days”
Israel can achieve the majority of its military objectives in Iran “within days,” according to a source familiar with the matter.
Israel is currently “working to finish its targets and then operating to promote negotiations,” the source told CNN, Caliber.Az quotes.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, who is participating in high-level discussions on the operation, said earlier on June 23 that Israel is “very close to completing” its three main objectives: weakening Iran’s nuclear program, its ballistic missile capabilities, and its network of regional proxies.
“We’re very close to completing this achievement,” Smotrich told Israel’s Army Radio.
In a pre-recorded news conference aired on the night of June 22, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasised that the military action would not become a prolonged conflict.
“We will not be dragged into a war of attrition,” Netanyahu said. “But we also will end this operation — this historic campaign — before we achieve all of our goals.”
