Colombian pop singer Yeison Jiménez, his band die in plane crash
A plane crash has occurred in Colombia, killing pop singer Yeison Jiménez and members of his musical group.
The private aircraft was flying from Paipa to Medellín, where the artists were scheduled to perform on the evening of January 10, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The tragedy occurred shortly after takeoff in the rural area of La Vereda Romita.
There were six people on board, including two pilots. All of them were killed.
Just ahead of boarding, the musician shared a post on social media which read: ‘Always humble, because what God gives you he can also take away.’
The aircraft had been heading towards the city of Medellin near the town of Marinilla where Jiménez was due to perform that night, with the fatal crash happening around 4pm local time on January 10.
Yeison Jiménez rose to prominence with hit songs such as Aventurero, Ni Tengo Ni Necesito, and El Mejor.
