COP29 traffic update: New patterns and stops for key bus routes in Baku
During the international conference COP29, the capital will optimize traffic management, ensure the safety and orderliness of urban transport, and provide convenience for road users.
In this regard, on November 3 from 10:00, the traffic patterns and final stops of a number of bus routes will change.
Caliber.Az presents to readers a list of routes for which the traffic patterns have been changed:
1. Buses serving the districts of Mahammadli, Buzovna, Mashtaga, Bilgah, Nardaran, Ramana, Balakhany, as well as the residential areas of Vishnevka and Savalan (route 139) will run from Zabrat road to the Ulduz metro station.
2. Buses running from Badamdar, Lokbatan, Bayil, Yasamal Residential Complex, Yasamal New Residential Complex, 9th Microdistrict and Baku International Bus Terminal will go to Elmlar Akademiyası metro station.
3. Buses running from Sabunchu station to Bakikhanov districts and Neftchilar metro station will go along Asif Asadullayev and Yaver Aliyev streets.
4. Buses running from Ramana and Sabunchu station towards Gara Garayev Avenue will go along the road to Balakhani.
5. Buses running from Darnagul metro station to Sabunchu station will also go along the road to Balakhani.
6. Buses running from the Darnagul metro station to the Badamdar district and the new Yasamal residential area will run along the streets of Sh. Mehdiyev, G. Aliyev, S. Vurgun, Mardanov brothers and Bakikhanov, and in the opposite direction - along the streets of N. Yusifbayli, S. Vurgun, G. Aliyev and Sh. Mehdiyev.
Due to increased traffic towards COP29 conference venues, the final stops of some bus routes have been adjusted to reduce congestion and ensure safe and convenient movement for both residents and visitors.
Here are the routes with updated final stops:
1. The final stop of the routes from the Nariman Narimanov metro station and the 7th and 9th microdistricts towards the city center will now be at the 28 May metro station.
2. The final stop of the routes running from the Akhmadli district, Jamshid Nakhchivansky Street (8th-kilometre market) and Sabunchu district (School 68) towards the city centre will now be at the Khatai metro station.
3. The final stop of the routes serving the Zabrat brick factory and New Mahalla districts, as well as near School 71, will now be at the Sabunchu station.
4. The final stop of the routes from Ramana to the new residential complex (route 163) and from the Surakhani and Ramana districts will now be at the Koroğlu Transport Exchange Center (towards Pyramid, near the metro station).
5. Buses running from Pirshagi district, Pirshagi summer cottage areas and Savalan residential area (route 197) will have a final stop at Zabrat Circle.
6. The final stop of the route from Gunashli district towards the city center is now at the Hazi Aslanov metro station.
7. The final stop of the route from Hovsan district towards the city center will be at the Hazi Aslanov metro station.
8. Buses running from Shuvalan and Gala districts towards the city will travel along the Gala-Pirallahi road and Zigh highway. The final stop is at the Akhmedli metro station.
9. Buses running from the Bina district towards the city will travel along the Zigh highway. The final stop is at the Hazi Aslanov metro station.
10. The bus running from Baku International Bus Terminal towards Koroglu Transport Exchange Center will have a final stop at Ganjlik Transport Exchange Center.
11. The bus running from Azersu Construction Hospital towards Sabunchu district will depart from the hospital and have a final stop at the Neftchilar metro station.
12. The route from Jamshid Nakhchivanski Military Lyceum to Koroglu Transport Exchange Center will have a final stop on Yavar Aliyev Street (Bakikhanov district).
13. The final stop of the route from Sahil district towards Sahil metro station will now be at Lokbatan Transport Exchange Center (Lokbatan district).
14. The final stop of the route from the Keshla district, moving along Gara Garayev Avenue towards the Koroglu Transport Exchange Center, will now be on Azer Manaphov Street (near the Gara Garayev metro station).
The temporary changes will help avoid delays in public transport in the city during the COP29 conference, which will be attended by foreign leaders, climate change experts and specialists, and will also improve pedestrian safety.
