Cuba accuses US of waging “ruthless war” against the country
The United States is waging a ruthless campaign against Cuba aimed at depriving the country of the ability to meet the fundamental needs of its people, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said in a post on X.
“US aggression against Cuba is continuous and intensifies because of its inability to defeat us. <...> The American government believes that no country can function and survive under such a ruthless war,” Díaz-Canel wrote.
La agresión de EE.UU contra #Cuba es incesante y se refuerza ante la impotencia de no vernos derrotados.

Díaz-Canel acknowledged that the economic pressure is having a “real and cruel impact” on the country. However, he stressed that Washington is ultimately testing “the ability of the Cuban people to resist and create” under such conditions.
The remarks come amid longstanding tensions between Havana and Washington, with Cuba continuing to criticise US sanctions and economic restrictions as a major obstacle to the country’s development.
