Cyprus denies being target of Iranian strikes
The presence of European military forces in Cyprus is a preventive measure within the framework of strategic cooperation with partner countries, the government spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis said, adding that Cyprus is not a target of Iranian attacks.
Speaking on a morning broadcast, Konstantinos Letymbiotis emphasised that this collaboration, involving France, Greece, Italy, and Spain, aims to strengthen operational readiness amid regional instability, Caliber.Az reports per Cypriot media.
He added there is no evidence that Cyprus itself is a target, noting that the two confirmed incidents involved the British base at Akrotiri. The status of British bases will be addressed later, not during the ongoing regional crisis.
