Czech Interior Ministry: Prague shooter gave no warning of his intentions

Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakušan said the gunman who opened fire at Prague's Charles University on December 21 had not stated any intention to attack students.

According to Seznam Zpravy, David Kozak created a Telegram channel on December 9, a few days before the shooting at the university. According to media reports, the young man wrote about plans to commit suicide and carry out a shooting, including under the influence of a Bryansk schoolgirl.

"There are rumours that the shooter warned about his intention and the police did nothing. This is not true. It was a complete surprise," Rakušan wrote on X. 

He added that an initiative had been introduced in the country's parliament on the right of the police to confiscate legally purchased weapons in certain cases.

The shooting took place at the Faculty of Philosophy at Charles University. As a result, 14 people were killed, as well as the shooter himself - he committed suicide. More than 20 more people were injured. The investigation claimed that he was a student of the University.
