Czech PM calls Israeli strike on Iran gas field “Incomprehensible”
19 March 2026 16:13
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has described Israel’s attack on Iran’s South Pars natural gas field as “incomprehensible,” AP reports.
“This move has been totally damaging the markets,” Babiš told reporters. “The price of gas is exploding and the price of oil as well.”
The Czech Republic is considered one of Israel’s closest allies within the European Union, making Babiš’s criticism particularly notable amid rising regional tensions and global energy concerns.
