Czech Republic supplies Ukraine with flight simulator for F-16 jets
The Czech Republic supplied Ukraine with a flight simulator for training pilots on F-16 fighter jets.
According to Gazeta.ru, this is reported by the Ukrainian edition of Klymenko Time, referring to the office of the Ukrainian president.
In July, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that Prague would supply flight simulators to Kyiv so that F-16 fighter pilots could be trained in Ukraine.
Prior to this, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy, Planning and Capabilities Mara Karlin said that Western countries would provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets only after the Ukrainian military was trained to use them.
In May, it was reported that Ukraine could receive F-16 fighter jets by autumn, and the Netherlands could transfer the first aircraft, Politico writes, citing Yuriy Sak, adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the training of Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 has already begun in several countries. He also said that European countries requested €10 billion from the EU leadership as compensation for weapons supplied to Ukraine.
