Daily Mail: Pentagon staff raise concerns over chaos, personnel problems
Pentagon employees have expressed dissatisfaction with the situation at the US Department of Defense under Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, citing what they describe as chaos and personnel problems.
The Daily Mail reported the concerns, citing the views of both military and civilian employees at the department.
As part of an anonymous survey, six Pentagon employees described the situation inside the department. One officer said: “People should know what a mess it is. Things have gone from bad to worse. It's unbelievably chaotic and demoralizing.”
According to sources cited by the newspaper, Hegseth has focused on dismissing high-profile military officials, blocking their promotions and combating various ideologies, including what the sources referred to as “Christian nationalism”.
Some military personnel also said that US facilities in the Middle East were overstretched and not receiving the necessary support.
The reported wave of dismissals of senior military officials has also drawn criticism from Pentagon personnel.
