Danish lawmaker describes US as only threat to Greenland
Rasmus Jarlov, Chairman of the Danish Parliament’s Defence Committee, emphasized that Denmark's position on Greenland remains unwavering, asserting that any attempts to bribe Greenlanders would be blocked.
Jarlov’s comments came amid ongoing discussions about Greenland's strategic importance and its relationship with international powers, particularly the United States, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Jarlov, addressing concerns over potential external pressures on Greenland, stated unequivocally, "The only threat against Greenland is the United States."

“Only 6% of people in Greenland would prefer being American rather than Danish. The only political party that said they trust Donald Trump got 1% and no seats in the Greenlandic parlament in the election a few weeks ago. Not a single member of the Greenlandic parlaments wants to become American. All of them find it initimidating and threatening that the USA does not respect that no means no,” he noted.
“There is no threat from China against Greenland and China has no presence in Greenland. The only threat against Greenland is the USA.
Denmark will not sell Greenland. Denmark will not accept and will block any attempts of bribing the Greenlanders. Denmark will not change its stand regardless of threats from the USA,” Jarlov added.
