Danish navy conducts UAV defence drills
The Royal Danish Navy is currently carrying out scheduled training exercises involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The exercises are taking place near the island of Skjællands Odde, with the crew of the frigate Esbern Snare actively participating in the drills, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press release published on the Danish Armed Forces’ official website.
During the exercises, the weapons centre launches a training drone that simulates the flight path often observed in attacks on military ships. The frigate's task is to detect, track and, if necessary, destroy the drone, the statement reads.
The Danish Armed Forces emphasised that the country’s naval frigates are equipped with a range of weapon systems capable of countering UAV threats.
