Deadly Russian strikes hit Ukraine's Donetsk, killing at least four PHOTO
At least four people have been killed and 18 others injured as a result of Russian attacks in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
In Sloviansk, three people were killed and eight others injured in strikes carried out by Russian forces, while 61 private homes were damaged, Donetsk Regional Military Administration head Vadym Filashkin announced.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) said rescuers extinguished fires in a residential building and in warehouse facilities belonging to local enterprises.
“In Druzhkivka, as a result of shelling, a nine-storey residential building caught fire. During firefighting operations, rescuers evacuated eight residents, including a child. The fire was contained on an area of 500 square metres,” the SES said.
Filashkin also reported that one person was killed in Druzhkivka as a result of the Russian attack. In addition, five people were injured in Mykolaivka in the Kramatorsk district, four more were wounded in Kramatorsk itself, and another person was injured in Novobakhmetivka in the Oleksandrivka community, he said.
