Deadly suicide blast rocks Islamabad, killing 12, injuring dozens PHOTO

A suicide bombing near the District Judicial Complex in Islamabad on November 11 claimed the lives of 12 people and left at least 20 others injured, authorities confirmed.

The explosion sent shockwaves across the capital, triggering an immediate response from law enforcement and emergency teams, Samaa TV reports.

Police reported that the injured were swiftly transported to PIMS Hospital for medical treatment. Emergency units, bomb disposal squads, and forensic teams cordoned off the area and launched a detailed investigation into the attack.

Senior police officials at the scene confirmed the death toll, noting that authorities are working to identify the victims. “The area has been sealed, and evidence is being collected from the blast site,” a police spokesperson said. Forensic experts are currently examining the nature and composition of the explosives used in the attack. The police also reported recovering the head of the alleged suicide bomber.

Security forces secured the perimeter immediately following the blast to prevent further harm and ensure the safety of civilians in nearby offices and residential areas. Ambulances and rescue personnel transported the injured to hospitals within minutes, while witnesses described scenes of chaos as police urged bystanders to vacate the vicinity of the District Judicial Complex.

In response to the attack, security has been heightened across Islamabad, particularly around government offices, judicial buildings, and other high-security zones. Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to prevent any potential follow-up attacks.
