Death toll escalates daily in Gaza
Gaza’s Health Ministry has announced that more than 20 Palestinians have been killed, and around 80 others injured due to actions by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
"Over the past day, 22 people were killed and 77 were injured as a result of shelling and airstrikes by Israeli forces in various areas of the Gaza Strip," Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.
The ministry added that the total number of casualties due to Israeli military actions in the enclave has risen to 39,699, with 91,722 people injured.
The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated after armed supporters of the Palestinian radical group Hamas infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. This incursion was marked by the killing of residents in border communities and the capture of over 240 hostages. In response, Israel launched a military operation in the enclave aimed at dismantling Hamas' military and political structures and securing the release of all abducted individuals. The fighting in the Gaza Strip continues.
